phycoerythrin
Phycoerythrin is a major light-harvesting pigment of red algae and Cyanobacteria. It is widely used as a fluorescent biomarker and as an analytical reagent. It can be easily cross linked with antibodies and other proteins by using conventional molecular tagging techniques without losing its fluorescent properties. Phycoerythrin has been shown to be particularly useful due to its large absorption coefficient and great fluorescence properties just as the high quantum yield and high stokes shift. Phycoerythrin fluoresces in a spectral region that is distinct from the region of emission of the simple organic dyes commonly used as fluorescent indicators. Other applications of Phycoerythrin include: 1. Design and characterization of light-sensing elements in biosensors. 2. As a reagent in proteomics and genomics and form the basis of the detection system in Affymetrix chips (DNA microarrays). 3. As a fluorescent labeling reagents thus helps in HIV monitoring and cancer diagnostics were a strong driving force for the growth of this reagent. 4. As a powerful multi-chromophore protein-labeling reagent. 5. As a second color , it works well with fluorescein-labeled antibodies. We offer C-Phycocyanin in the following Grades:- 1. Phycoerythrin (A566A280 : Grade 3.00) 2. Phycoerythrin (A566A280 : Grade 4.60)

...moreAstaxanthin
Astaxanthin is a carotenoid. It belongs to a larger class of phytochemicals known as terpenes. It is classified as a xanthophyll. Like many carotenoids, it is a colorful, lipid-soluble pigment. Astaxanthin is found in microalgae, yeast, salmon, trout, krill, shrimp, crayfish, crustaceans, and the feathers of some birds The Benefits of Astaxanthin :- Astaxanthin is used as a feed supplement for salmon, crabs, shrimp, chickens and egg production. Regardless of the source, astaxanthin provides some important benefits beyond coloration. It also has been found to be essential for proper growth and survival. For seafood and Animals The primary use of synthetic astaxanthin today is as an animal feed additive to impart coloration, this includes farm-raised salmon and egg yolks. In that, synthetic carotenoid (i.e., coloured yellow, red or orange) pigments represent about 15-25% of the cost of production of commercial salmon feed.
...moreallophycocyanin
Allophycocyanin is a pigment from the Phycobiliprotein family. It is a bluish green protein found in Cyanobacteria species Spirulina Plantensis, with high fluorescence quantum yield, molar extinction coefficients, absorbtivity and stability. It can be easily cross linked with antibodies and other proteins by using conventional molecular tagging techniques without losing its fluorescent properties. It is composed of alfa and beta subunits and these subunits are present in trimer form. Each subunit has a molecular weight of 17 K Dalton. The total molecular weight of Allophycocyanin is 104 K Dalton. Allophycocyanin has absorption maximum at 650 nm and emission maximum at 660 nm; it is an ultra sensitive florescent tracer because of high emission quantum yield and is 100 times more sensitive than conventional organic fluorophores. It has therapeutic properties and is also used as food colorant having an isoelectric point of 4.36, trimer is unstable at low concentration and trimer has got higher emission quantum yield than monomer. High Extinction Coefficients and Quantum Yield: Allophycocyanin based dyes exhibit very intense fluorescence light emission and optimal brightness due to high extinction coefficients and quantum yield values of the dyes - intensity increases when coupled to bio molecules resulting in reduced influence of uncoupled dye. High Resistance to Photo Bleaching: As compared to other fluorescent dyes phycobiliprotein based dyes can withstand higher photo-degradation, hence they show lesser photo bleaching effect. pH Stability: Phycobiliprotein based dyes are stable at a wider range of pH as compared to other fluorescent dyes( pH range- 5 to 8). Hydrophilic in Nature: The negatively charged Allophycocyanin based dyes are highly water soluble and thus can be used in biological test done in vitro and in vivo.
