This is a handmade sculpture a true multicultural art created with clay and inspired from the ancient Indo-African handicraft, made in Australia.  Each piece is worked and tested with detail. Pottery making is long process.  The pottery piece has to be completely dry before it's fired in a kiln to a temperature of about 1800 degrees f, that allows the piece to be handled and glazed.  Brushing on glaze, (essentially glass with natural elements for color)takes 3 coats for each color, it's very labor intensive and time consuming.  The piece is fired again to 1880 degrees f to melt the glaze onto the piece and removed from the kiln immediately when the glaze has fluxed, red hot, with metal tongs, and put in a container(metal garbage can, a hole in the ground with a lid, etc.)full of combustibles such as newspaper or dried leaves, etc. for the reduction process.  Glazed clay pipes smoke every bit as well as glass or better.  And because of the clay body, is sturdier than glass, not many people eat on glass dinner plates.  Many also think that clay has more character. 100% Casted and Handmade at 1800 degree f for long lasting life, This Brown Patina Sculpture Was Cast Using The "Lost Wax Method" very rare to find.
