The “gemini” incorporates the most advanced and sophisticated features as in other european and american presses and is therefore the “latest generation” press in its segment. with a maximum mechanical speed of 50,000 cph and the design based on the tower concept, which is the most widely accepted concept these days because of its compactness, “gemini” mono units are stacked on top of one another to form 2, 3 or 4-hi towers or stacked on to the “gemini” automatic splicers. the inking system in “gemini” units have motor driven ink fountain rollers and have lever type ink fountains which have been designed to be compatible with zonal inking systems with remote operation as well. The dampening system is designed for both brush as well as spray dampening. The lateral and circumferential register controls are on all the cylinders. They are motorized and controlled through a separate operator console with an lcd monitor which is touch screen. the “gemini” is available in the cut-off sizes of 533mm, 546mm, 560mm, 578mm, 600mm and 630mm. The auto-splicers have the capacity to handle a roll of maximum 45” diameter. the “gemini” has a heavy duty and sturdy folder capable of taking 12 webs for broadsheet or tabloid fold (12 fold), maximum 10 webs for magazine fold (14 fold) and 3 webs for digest fold (double parallel fold). The fast range of presses offer a variety of printing elements to meet the customers needs of colour printing and pagination. The fast range of printing elemements include arch unit with integral reel stand, four colour satellite, stack unit, I & y unit. The arch and I units are capable of printing 1+1 colour on one web. The y unit is capable of printing 2+1, 3+0 colour (direct)litho on one web. The four colour satellies can be configured with a stack unit or ach unit to print 4+1 colour on one web. If two four colour satellites are used it is possible to print 4+4 colour on one web. The stack unit is idential to the arch unit (but is without reel stand) and can be configured one on top of another to a maximum of four stacks in order to print various colour possibilities on one web, 2+2 (2-hi tower), 3+3, 4+2 (3+--hi tower), and 4+1, 4+2, 4+4 (4-hi tower).
