Whitley Microaerophilic Workstations
Whitley DG250 Workstation The Whitley DG250 Anaerobic Workstation is used when there is a need to easily process, culture and examine anaerobic samples without exposure to atmospheric oxygen. This workstation has a small footprint yet can accommodate 270 x 90mm Petri dishes whilst retaining a generous working area. For emergency anaerobic incubation it will hold up to 400 plates. 33% more capacity than any other unit of comparable size so you get more space for your money. The user portholes act as two mini-airlocks so you can transfer plates at the same time as entering/exiting the workstation. The whole top can be lifted off for thorough cleaning and the transfer of bulk samples and equipment. Built-in, fully automatic humidity control system that requires no user maintenance. Available with automatic sleeve gassing system operated by foot-switch so you can ensure the correct conditions and use gas supplies efficiently. The DG250 can also operate as a microaerobic or hypoxic chamber with the correct gasses connected. This could be ideal for short projects or small research experiments. 1,700,000 - 1,800,000 Per piece
1 piece (MOQ)
With the Whitley Jar Gassing System you can create perfect conditions for growing anaerobes in jars in just 2 minutes for less than 18 pence and for microaerophiles in 15 seconds for less than 3 pence (compared with about £1.60 for every gas generating kit used). Reduces the cost of creating microaerobic conditions by 98% and for anaerobic conditions by 89%. A full colour touch screen control panel allows you to monitor, in real time, that the criteria necessary for the creation of either anaerobic or microaerobic conditions has been met. It is easy to use so no complicated operator training is required. Incorporates PIN code protected user access levels for additional security. The optional printer enables you to create a hard copy audit trail for accreditation purposes. If you already have anaerobic jars that you wish to use you can order the adaptor kit, which will enable you to connect most types of jar.

...moreWhitley Automated Spiral Plater
The Whitley Automated Spiral Plater (WASP) eliminates serial dilutions. It offers a real reduction in the cost per test and standardises counting methods. It is used in the food industry to test for safe levels of bacteria and as a quality assurance and research tool in pharmaceuticals, water and dental. WASP has many benefits for the busy laboratory, including: Use without any consumables ensuring minimal running costs. A single keystroke operation loads the sample, inoculates a plate and cleans the stylus to optimise sample throughput speed. It can dispense volumes from 10 µl to 400 µl providing immense flexibility and repeatability. 8 x 50 µl plates can be prepared in Syringe Mode in 2 minutes 35 seconds. Optional 15cm turntable to enable the use of 15cm plates. Optional self-centering, adjustable turntable – allows 9cm plates from different manufacturers to be used without manual adjustment. Don Whitley Scientific offers a ‘Quality Counts Scheme’ which you can participate in should you need to provide external quality assessments (UK customers only). Did you know that spiral plating techniques are recognised in the ISO4833-2 standard? Read the article on our blog.
...moreWhitley Anaerobic work Station
Whitley A35 HEPA Workstation The Whitley A35 HEPA is an anaerobic workstation with the unique Whitley Internal HEPA Filtration System. Like our other anaerobic chambers, it provides excellent conditions for the processing, incubation and examination of samples without exposure to atmospheric oxygen. This anaerobic chamber provides the ability to manipulate samples in a sustainable environment where parameters can be altered to create the required conditions. Accommodates up to 600 x 90mm Petri dishes. Fitted with the unique Whitley Internal HEPA Filtration System. All the atmosphere passes through the filter hundreds of times an hour, which ensures the chamber environment is cleaned quickly. DWS filters are located inside the workstation, which prevents the filter becoming saturated with moisture and rendered ineffective. Levels of atmospheric cleanliness inside the workstation exceed the requirements of ISO 14644 Class 3. Proof of atmospheric cleanliness can be provided on request. Fitted with a removable front to facilitate thorough cleaning, easy replacement of the HEPA filter, and the transfer of bulk samples and larger pieces of equipment for use in the workstation. The internal atmosphere is circulated continuously - contributing to even temperature distribution and ensuring any internal particulates will be in motion before capture by the filter. Rather than use off-the-shelf filters, DWS has worked with one of the world's leading filter manufacturers to develop a filter specifically tailored to suit this workstation. Fitted with patented oval ports, equipped with sleeves and cuffs, which provide greater freedom of movement and operator comfort. Fully integrated gas control avoids bulky add-on systems and reduces the need for additional bench space. The built-in rapid airlock ensures samples can be transferred into the workstation atmosphere as soon as possible (takes only 60 seconds). A colour, touchscreen control panel for ease of use and for visual display of parameters such as temperature, humidity, and airlock cycle status. Ethernet-enabled for remote access to touchscreen. Includes an automatic commissioning cycle to save you time and resources. Options include an integrated Anaerobic Conditions Monitor with data download facility. Sample manipulation within a secure anaerobic environment is now as easy as working aerobically at the laboratory bench.

...moreRapid Automated Bacterial Impedance Technique
RABIT is a direct and indirect impedance measurement system for the rapid detection of bacteria, yeasts and moulds. The system is designed to allow tests to be carried out over a range of incubation temperatures to provide maximum flexibility for microbiological testing. Use the direct technique to measure the changes of metabolising micro-organisms as they increase electrical conductance of the culture media in the system – detects growth at the beginning of the growth phase, not at the end as with traditional methods. Use the indirect technique to monitor the amount of carbon dioxide produced by growing organisms. This technique is particularly suitable for detecting organisms that do not produce highly charged metabolites. Uses Windows™-based software for easy sample entry and analysis of results. You can also export your data for use in other spreadsheet/ database programmes. Low consumable costs as the test cells are durable and re-usable. RABIT is a modular system that can build with your requirements: from a single 32-channel incubator module up to 16 incubators (providing 512 channels). Ideal for quality assurance on raw materials and finished products, water testing, challenge testing, product performance, antibacterial studies, TVC, coliforms, enterobacteriaceae, Salmonella sp, anaerobes, gram negatives, spore formers and yeasts/moulds. This system is used by food and dairy laboratories and university research laboratories.
