    The wet Air / Gas stream is split at the air dryer inlet through a differential distributor valve. Part of this air / gas stream is passed through an external heater and heated to a regeneration temperature of 160-180°C, then it is fed to the Adsorber desiccant tower A containing Silica gel or activated Alumina / Molecular Sieves under regeneration thus removing out the moisture from the desiccant bed. A water cooled / air cooled aftercooler condenses the desorbed moisture which is discharged regularly through the automatic drain trap . after condensation This Air/ Gas stream joins the main incoming air stream and goes for drying to the other tower B under drying. Normally a Cycle time of 8+8 hrs is utilized to complete one cycle of operation. After each operation the changeover is effected automatically. This type of dryer provides an outlet Dew Point of -40 deg C. Heatless compressed air dryer (drier) is the simplest form of dessicant type gas or air dryer (drier) for achieving a dew point of -40°C for compressed air systems and other gas and air dryer (drier) applications . Process- Wet incoming Compressed air after passing through prefilter passes through the slide piston valve assembly and is directed towards chamber I where the compressed air passes upward through the desiccant bed (Activated Alumina or Molecular Sieves ). Compressed Air drying takes place by adsorption. Dry Compressed air from chamber I then passes through the Check valve assembly and then through the after-filter to the application or work area. While Compressed air is drying in chamber I the dessiccant in chamber II where the desiccant has been wetted in the previous cycle is being simultaneously regenerated. The chamber II is depressurised to atmosphere through the purge valve in the downward direction. A portion of the dry compressed air passes through the needle valve / orifice plate through the desiccant and flushes out the desorbed moisture. When the regeneration is complete, the purge valve is closed and the tower is slowly repressurised to line pressure for a smooth changeover. A drying period of 5 minutes provides an efficient dew point of -40°C or better (at atmospheric pressure ). In regeneration process approximately 60 seconds are required for repressurisation.

An undersized Water chiller will always be a problem-- never able to properly cool the process equipment. An oversize chiller will never be able to run at it's most efficient level. To size a Water chiller properly you first need to calculate the delta T ( deg C)between the inlet and outlet water (the change in temperature), and the rate of flow in liters per minute (LPM). Measuring the delta T requires a thermocouple or thermometer. Check the water temperature of the water inlet line and the water outlet line, and subtract the numbers to compute how much heat the equipment is adding to the water. To measure the flow rate of the water place a flow meter on the outlet line of your equipment. If one is not available, simply measure the time it takes for the outlet flow to fill a twenty Litre bucket, and then compute your Litre per minute (LPM) of flow. Now that you have these two figures you need to calculate how many kcals (kilo calories of heat Units) your equipment dissipates. Here is the formula: # kcals/ hour = (the weight of water) LPM x Temperature Difference (delta T) Repeat this for all the equipment you have, and add up the total kcals. Now that you have the kcals, lets compute the total Tons of cooling you need from a chiller. 1 Ton of cooling is 3000 kcals/hour so... # Tons = (kcals/hr) / (3,000) This is the minimum size unit you should need.please keep another 25-30 % margin for There may be other circumstances, like planning for expansion, that would lead you to buy a different size unit.
