Did you know 17 people die from either heart disease or stroke daily in Singapore? It accounted for almost 1/3rd of all deaths in 2018. In other words, almost 1 out of 3 deaths in Singapore, is due to cardiovascular disease. 70 percent of sudden cardiac arrest or heart attack has been attributed to coronary artery disease. Blockages in the arteries that supply blood to the heart muscles is the major cause of heart attacks. Another common cardiac disease is cardiac arrhythmia, which is an abnormal heart rate or rhythm. Therefore, cardiac disease screening is a very important screening tool especially for patients with a strong family history of heart disease. At MHC Medical Centre, we provide heart disease screening tailored for patients.
