Mica Scrap is obtained from Mica Mines, it is basically a Mica that is below specifications and not suitable for use as sheet mica, because of size or quality. It is screened over ½" sq. inches openings and have an average size between 12 mm – 50 mm with thickness between 0.15 mm – 5 mm. Mica Scrap should be cleaned, dried, hard, free from mineral and non-mineral impurities, such as: Quartz, felspar, garnet, tourmaline, stones, mud-stained or biotite mica, clay, send as well as other inclusions viz; paper, wood-leaves, straw, iron contents etc. Mica recovered by means of hammer crushing, processing and screening of crude mica having an average area between 12 to 50 mm sq. (1/2 to 2 inch sq.) is defined as Mica Scrap. All Mica Scrap are substantially free from mineral and non-mineral impurities as well as other foreign inclusions. It is exported to plants all over the world and finds paramount use as a primary raw material in the manufacture of mica paper or re-constituted mica. Domestically, Mica Scrap is used as a basic material for the manufacture of Ground Mica Flakes and Powders.

Ruby Crushed Mica Scrap Material:The mica is muscovite ruby. Colour: Might be ruby or white Chemical Compositions: Ruby, white muscovite mica scrap (Potassium Aluminium Silicate) Purity: Minimum 97% of scrap mica in 2A & 2B. Thickness: Are in between 0.007" to 0.100" Sized: 85% of the material will be retained of screen size ½ inch square or as specified by the customers. Moisture: The material having maximum 0.1% by weight as determined by heating 15 grams at 150°C for one hour. Quality: The muscovite mica scrap will be fresh, dry & free from rust, quartz, tourmaline, garnet, clay, iron oxide biotite (black mica), dust, fines, hard & dark stained. It is free from organic impurities like Wood, Paper, Straw, Plastics & Fabrics. Packing: The muscovite mica scrap is packed in poly line Jute, H.D.P. P.P. bags: each bags minimum 50kgs. Or maximum 80kgs. Or as per customers requirements. Labeling & Marking: As per customers specification. Weight loss & Colour on firing or ignition: the muscovite mica scrap when fired to completion as per IMIM 402.7 the weight loss shall be 4-5% by weight maximum. The colour of the fired mica scrap will be like Pearly Gray (silver gray).
