Mica sheets are chemically inert, dielectric, elastic, flexible, hydrophilic, insulating, lightweight, platy, reflective, refractive, resilient, and range in opacity from transparent to opaque. Mica is stable when exposed to electricity, light, moisture, and extreme temperatures. It has superior electrical properties as an insulator and as a dielectric, and can support an electrostatic field while dissipating minimal energy.

Mica Blocks are knife or scissor dressed mica sheets of a minimum thickness of 0.18 mm (0.007 Inch) Block Mica is obtained in size as large as 30 to 35 cm. sq. (12 to 14 Inches sq). It can be obtained in a number of sizes (natural and calibrated) and can be customized as per customer’s requirement.

mica shields are widely used as a protection to flat transparent, sight glasses in water and liquid level gauges and columns in high pressure steam boilers. mica shields also provide perfect visibility for monitoring the nature or degree of combustion in blast furnaces of steam boilers. these also protect the inner surfaceglasses against erosion from chemical abrasion and from corrosive chemical effects of alkaline solutions, boiler waters, caustics, acids and other contaminated viscous or corrosive media.

Mica discs are round cut discs of mica used in liquid level indicators, breathing apparatus, communication devices, fuses and other end products. These can also be bonded by shellac or epoxy into considerable lengths.Mica discs offer a clean surface for EM applications, carbon filming and particle spraying, as well as for AFM applications.
