peek is a semi – crystalline thermoplastic with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties that are retained to high temperature . The processing condition used to mould peek can influence the crystallinity , and hence the mechanical properties .peek ‘s mechanical properties at elevated temperature have led to it being used in at least two varieties of extruder as thermal insulation .
