The Model DRS-020 Eddy current digital reference sensor is a self-contained, non-contact position sensor. Not only do they not contain parts prone to mechanical wear, but they are also virtually insensitive to environmental influences. Eddy current proximity switches react only to metal parts, which is an advantage in many cases (insensitivity to dirt).
