Mixproof valves can be either double or single seated. A double-seated mixproof valve has two independent seals separating the two liquids and a drainage chamber between. This chamber must be open to atmosphere to ensure full mixproof safety in case either of the two seals should leak. When a double-seated mixproof valve is activated, the chamber between the upper and lower body is closed and then the valve opens to connect the upper and lower pipelines. When the valve is closed, first the upper plug seals and then the leakage chamber is opened to atmosphere. This gives very small product losses during operation.

With the big range of plate heat exchangers Sondex has got the optimal technical solution for any possible task, with connection sizes from Ø15 to Ø500 mm covering a liquid flow of 50lhour to 2000 m3hour. The construction of the inlet part makes a perfect distribution of the liquids across the heating surface. The inlet part is increased and designed with channels preventing "dead spots" on the plate heat exchanger. The inlet with channels secures a strong inlet part with a minimum of contact points. A gasket plate heat exchanger consists of a number of pressed metal plates each with a rubber gasket. The gaskets are arranged in such a way so as to allow two fluids to pass in opposite directions up and down alternate channels. The design of the exchanger enables it to be easily dismantled for cleaning or addition of plates.
