  ShearScout® is a low level wind shear alert system designed to enhance the safety, regularity and efficiency of aviation in changing wind conditions. Wind shear encounters below an altitude of 1,000ft pose a serious threat to aircraft and may cause dangerous deviations from the intended flight path. The pilot has very little time or altitude to take evasive action.
