We have put down basic way of making ice cream in the below steps . the ice cream base with the right percentage of milk fat and its ingredients has to be chosen by the ice cream maker depending on his region . steps of ice cream processing 1. Blend the Ice Cream Mixture the ice cream make has to ensure the milk fat percentage , Sugar, cream and blend to ensure complete mixing of liquid and dry ingredients. 2. Pasteurize Mix Ice cream mix is pasteurized at 155°F (68.3°C) for 30 minutes 3.Homogenize Ice cream mix is homogenized (2500 to 3000 psi) to decrease the milk fat globule size to form a better emulsion 4. Age the Mix Ice cream mix is aged at 40°F (5°C) for at least 4 hours or overnight 5. Add Liquid Flavors and Colors Liquid flavors and colors may be added to the mix before freezing 6. Freeze Ice cream Mix is frozen in continues freezer 7. Add Fruits, Nuts and Flavorings As desired, depending on the product. 8. Package As desired, depending on the product. 9. Harden The ice cream is cooled as quickly as possible down to a holding temperature of less than -13°F(-25°C). Hydraulic Diaphragm Metering/Dosing Pumps. A Hydraulic Diaphragm pump is also a positive displacement pump. This model comprises of hydraulically actuated diaphragm Liquid Heads incorporating Diaphragm Actuated Replenishing system. The pump consists of three sections which are the Drive End, Hydraulic Chamber End, and the Liquid End (Diaphragm Head). The Drive end mechanism for a plunger pump and Hydraulic diaphragm pump is the same. The diaphragm head is fitted to the stroke length control mechanism. The stroke variation mechanism moves the plunger in a closely guided bush. The plunger displaces hydraulic fluid which acts on the diaphragm to deflect it. This deflection of the diaphragm causes the suction and discharge process of the liquid. Air Operated Diaphragm Pump
The Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pump (AODD) is a double acting positive displacement diaphragm pump. The pump displaces fluid from one of its two liquid chambers upon each stroke completion. Air Operated double diaphragm pumps are widely used for their simple, portable construction. Air Operated Diaphragm pumps are employed in a host of difficult fluid transfer applications ranging from circulation duty in cleanroom environments to municipal sludge pumping. AOD Pumps are intrinsically safe by design, offering a wide range of material and elastomer options, giving you the optimum solution for your process. Working Principal of Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pump The air is ported through the air valve piston into the centre block, where two directional ports direct the air to the left or right side of the pump. The pump has two liquid chambers, two air chambers and two diaphragms. In each pair of chambers, the liquid and air chambers are separated by a flexible diaphragm. When in the air chamber, the air pressure is applied on the back side of one diaphragm forcing the product out of the liquid chamber into the discharge manifold. As the two diaphragms are connected by a rod, or shaft, the other diaphragm is pulled towards the centre of the pump. This causes a suction stroke on the other side. Ball valves open and close alternately to fill chambers, and block back-flow. At the end of the shaft stroke, the air mechanism (air valve piston) automatically shifts the air pressure to (opposite side) reverse the action of the pump, simply put a 1 : 1 ratio reciprocating pump. ADVANTAGES OF AODD PUMP No seal , No Leakage Self Priming,No need of foot valve. Variable flow with same pump. Can be submerge. Less stock of spare to be maintain. No skill person is needed to operation and repair pump. Light weight, handy in use. No rotation no wear & tear hence low maintenance. Pump can run dry. Stop Automatic on closing of discharge Valve. Can handle 2 to 10 mm size solid particles. Also Can be used upto accuracy 3 to 5 %. No motor, No fire. In short very simple and versatile pump. OPERATION PRINCIPLE Dry air is given as input to air valve. Air will push both diaphragm alternatively, Four ball valves will act as NRV for suction and delivery.
