Cast Iron Welding Electrodes: Cast iron may only be welded by specially designed electrodes having particular chemical, metallurgical and mechanical properties. These electrodes are mainly divided in two groups: one gives a weld metal composition which is completely different than that of the base metal, and second group of electrodes includes pure nickel, nickel-based and copper-based electrodes When welding with this type of electrodes (Nickel-Copper alloys), lowest possible welding currents should be selected to minimize the mixing of the filler metal with that of the base metal. These electrodes are used for second degree joints and special Hard facing applications on cast iron.Prima Cast Alloy, Prima Nickeloy, Prima Cast Alloy Monel, Prima Cast Alloy (Non Machineable) .

Used to remove dampness from the welding electrodes as moisture in electrode adversely affects quality of welding. In 'ARCON' electrode drying ovens, high quality heaters, German thermostats and Digital Temperature Controllers are used to ensure longer life of these ovens. Also high quality insulation is used leading to low heat loss and hence quicker drying of electrode.
