Are designed for ordinary duty Standard trappings' are provided at 50%, 60% and 80% of the line voltage Correct sequence device rendering it impossible to put the handle into the "Running" position without going through the "Start" position. Tripping by push button fitted on the unit. Remote stopping is possible by push button station or any other tripping device—for which the no-volt terminals are brought out. Provision for fitting an isolator — interlocked with the unit—so that opening of the unit is not possible till the isolator is made "Off". Padlocking arrangement for isolator. Cable sealing boxes can be supplied for under- Ground paper insulated cables hence suitable for PVC cable entry. Can be mounted on unit type bus bar chambers to form a switchboard. SM AT 50 units can be wall-mounting as well as floor-mounting types. AX-45 is floor-mounting type only. The unit has the provision for fitting one instrument directly on itself. For more than one unit, an instrument panel is provided. Floor stand can be supplied as an optional item.

Motor is connected in delta from the start. Auto transformer provides voltage to the motor at start. Appropriate lower voltage tapping –customized as per the application – is provided to the motor. After the motor has attained significant torque changeover from auto transformer to on line takes place. The changeover is “closed transition” i.e. During changeover the auto transformer acts as a choke supplying voltage to motor – hence smooth or stepless or soft starting takes place. The motor then runs on line current. The transformer is isolated from both the ends to protect the contactors. Adjustable high torque: a high torque (up to 64%) possible and can be customized by voltage tapings. No power quality issues: all standards electrical components ensure that there are no harmonics or other power quality issues. Transient elimination: korndorfer closed transition technology ensures that transients are eliminated. Motor protection: motor is connected in delta at the time of starting to avoid high inrush current in the motor winding thus providing lesser heat generation. Reduced voltage starter: voltage controlled by auto transformer at the time of starting. The capicity of ats is 15hp to 1000 hp rs. 1111/- per hp for any starter.

The auto transformer may have a number of output taps and be set-up to provide a single stage starter, or a multistage starter. Typically, the auto transformer would have taps at 50%, 65% and 80% voltage, enabling the motor to be started at one or more of these settings. The slip ring induction motor has two distinctly separate parts, one is the stator and other is the rotor. The stator circuit is rated as same in the squirrel cage motor, but the rotor is rated in frame voltage or short circuit current. These motors are usually started with full line voltage applied across its terminals.
