Boring mill machine tool used to increase the size of a hole previously made in a work piece, usually with the purpose of obtaining a required degree of finish and accuracy in the final hole. In a horizontal boring mill the work piece is held stationary on a vertical table whose position can be adjusted. A spindle attached to a vertically adjustable head holds the cutting tool, which is fed horizontally into the work. In a vertical boring mill the work piece is made to revolve on a horizontal circular table as the tool is fed in.

Using interpolation feature of CNC system many more types of operations can be performed. The machine is designed keeping in mind, the optimum utilization of the man and machine. This machine has been designed and manufactured to perform all machining operations in large circular components like motor frames, magnet frames etc in one go. All machining operations are carried out, taking the reference from the center bore axis, which ensures a very high level of accuracy consistently. In fact, most of these components need multiple machines for performing hundreds of machining operations of many types. Spindle : The boring spindle, made of special steel with a super-finished surface, is guided in a sturdy milling spindle in two long bronze bushes. the milling spindle rotates in two high - precision timken taper roller bearings, Automatics axial travel of boring spindle is a standard feature.
