Bowie & Dick Test Pack Ensure Steri Test Bowie & Dick Test Packs are Pre-assembled, Single use test packs designed to evaluate the performance of the air removal system of pre-vacuum assisted sterilizers in compliance with EN 285 and operating at 134° C 3.5 minutes. An indicator sheet printed with water based, non-toxic chemical indicator is placed in the center of each pack. The uniform color change of the indicator after steam sterilization indicates that all air was removed and replaced by steam. The backside of the indicator sheet contains fields to be filled out and it can be kept as a permanent record for traceability purposes. The Getinge Assured Bowie-Dick Test Pack 121°C & 134° C is for daily monitoring of steam sterilizers operating at 121°C & 134° C. The test pack is packaged in an easy to open box and designed to operate in sterilizers with cycles as defined in EN ISO 11140-4.If no appreciable air is present in the sterilizer chamber after vacuums are drawn, the steam will penetrate to the middle of the test pack and turn the indicator sheet a uniform black color, which indicates a pass. If a small amount of air is present, sufficient enough to cause a two degree temperature drop, the air will migrate to the middle of the test pack causing the center of the sheet to remain a blue/grey color rather than a uniform black. This indicates a fail.Clear colour change – blue-to-black, Lead-free and no toxic heavy metals, Recordable, Conforms to EN ISO 11140-4, for use in sub-trans cycles.
