Inverter Drive shall be provided to vary the basket speed with built-in dynamic braking. Cleaning-In-Place (C.I.P.) Arrangement Provided in the centrifuge machine to clean the internals of the centrifuge. CIP nozzles are placed at a different location to spray the wash liquid to all the surface which are not accessible from outside. During the cleaning process the centrifuge basket to be operated at a low speed to make cleaning more effective. The 4-Point Suspension The centrifuge is mounted on inertia platform and suspended over four vibration-isolating dampers. SAFETY FEATURES Zero Speed Interlock The pneumatic cylinder will automatically get engaged with the lid as soon as basket starts rotating and gets disengaged only when it completely stops which will ensure that the lid can be opened only when the basket comes to a complete halt. Proximity Sensor Shall be provided as a safety interlock for the Lid / Body. Unless the Lid / Body is closed motor cannot start and once the lid is opened motor power cuts off. Vibration Tripper Will trip the Centrifuge during excessive vibration. Vibration Monitoring System This system shall continuously monitor the vibration level of the machine. The system has two set point, one set point is for Alarm level and another set point is for a trip level. The system also gives 4-20 amps output which can be hooked up to PLC. Nitrogen Blanketing System/ Nitrogen Inertisation System The Nitrogen Inertisation is provided to the centrifuge basket chamber (casing) and to the bearing housing (sealing system). This system shall ensure that during the centrifuge operation the adequate nitrogen pressure is maintained within the basket chamber and bearing housing stuffing box chamber. Therefore, creating a Flame Proof System. Note: Oxygen Analyzer can be provided in the vent line. AUTOMATION Programmable Logic Controller All the process cycles of centrifuge operations can be automated through a Programmable Logic Controller. The instruments mounted on the machine will communicate with the PLC system. The process cycles can be specifically designed and programmed to work according to the logic. The horizontal chemical peeler centrifuges were specially designed to meet the filtration requirements of the chemical and fine chemical industry. The Chemical peeler centrifuge is known for its many advantages from its horizontal rotation arrangement of the basket. By arranging the axis horizontally, advantages in washing capability, uniform solid size distribution for better solid output quality. The feeding action in centrifuge is effective as the feeds are fed perpendicularly to gravity and centrifugal force spreads out the solids evenly on basket inner surface. In this centrifuge the lid of the centrifuge can be fully opened which allows easy access to inside of rotating basket. This also means the operator can get access to internal components including filter cloth which required replacement. And its high discharge speed reduces time taken to accelerate and braking for rotation for high capacity, so does power consumption, wear and tear. This short cycle time is particularly beneficial for short cycle, fast-filtering requirements for certain processes. This means these centrifuges provide higher centrifugal forces than vertical centrifuges, and increases performances and flexibility. Due to continuous discharge of filtered liquid through perforated inner surface of rotating basket, the pressure drop, main driving force of filtration is increased across the solid cake and filter medium; as a result, the filtration rate can be boosted. Moreover, high rotational speed results high rotational force which allows lowering residual cake moisture effectively, so does the washing liquid and washing results. Because of effective washing, drying processes that yield high purity of output. In this model the cake is filtered in the same manner as the vertical models but the cake discharge is achieved by means of a scraper knife that plows into the cake. At this point the basket is in rotation at a preset low speed and the cake is peeled off the Basket surface and discharged through the discharge chute or Screw conveyor which was mounted on outer casing. The filter bags in these centrifuges are held in place by Tension-ed Rings or by screws and the bags may also have backing cloth or mesh to impart structural rigidity to the bag so that the bag does not distort of collapse while the knife is being engaged. The small gap between the scraper and the Basket Shell results in a thin layer of cake remaining inside the Basket. This layer is known as the Residual Heel. A Blow Off arrangement is provided to remove this Heel. Typically this is achieved by a blast of Air/ Nitrogen from specially arranged Air Delivery nozzles mounted on a pipe. The pipe is aligned with the basket perforations so that when the blast of Air is sent in to the pipe it travels through the Basket perforations and dislodges the Residual Heel. The action of the scraper knife is by means of a Hydraulic Cylinder which is powered by a Hydraulic Power Pack. The Scraper knife has mechanical limits so that the knife does not accidentally come in contact with the Basket Shell.

The chemical version of the horizontal peeler centrifuges are used for separating medium to large quantities of product that can be washed and then spin-dried. The centrifuges are designed for continuous operating with large product throughput. Filling The suspension that is to be separated is filled into the horizontal, overhung perforated basket at a pre-selected loading speed. As a result of the centrifugal force, the solid particles settle on the filter fabric on the basket shell. The solids are retained by the filter fabric, suspension fluid flows through the forming filter cake, including the filter fabric and leaves the perforated basket through bore-holes in the basket sleeve. During filling, the fluid level in the basket and the growth of the filter cake are controlled by sensors. Upon reaching the desired filter cake height the filling process is stopped automatically. Intermediate spinning Depending on the product, a filling process will be interrupted by intermediate spinning with increased speed, in order to free filling volume in the basket and continue the filling process. Depending on the filtration reaction of the product, intermediate spinning will be repeated several times. Washing the solids As soon as the suspension fluid has been centrifuged, the washing the solids in the basket process is started. During this phase the washing fluid is evenly distributed via a suitable washing pipe (nozzle pipe or orifice-type sprayer) throughout the whole length of the basket. As a result of the centrifugal force, the washing fluid penetrates the filter cake, displaces the still sticking suspension fluid and leaves the basket in the same way as the suspension fluid during filling. Spinning In order to separate the fluid from the filter cake the basket is generally accelerated to the maximum allowable speed and kept constant at this speed. Kinetics of the spinning process depend on the solids and fluid parameters, the height of the filter cake and, naturally, the centrifugal force acting upon the fluid to be separated. The residual humidity in the filter cake decreases over time under the constant centrifugal force and asymptotically it approaches a theoretical limit. Discharging After hydro-extraction and with the basket rotating, the filter cake is peeled layer by layer by means of a discharge device, which consists of a knife box which can be rotated and moved in linear direction. The solids are then discharged via a suitable chute or a conveyor screw. Residual heel removal Generally, the solids are not completely removed, but a residual layer is left in the basket. It serves as a filtration accelerator for the next work cycle in order to obtain a filtrate that is as free from particles as possible. However, this residual layer loses its permeability after several cycles and must be removed from time to time. This is done by separating the residual layer from the filter fabric by the use of a pressurized gas device that blows from the outside into the bore-holes in the basket shell. The residue is then transported out of the centrifuge via the discharge device. Cleaning Cleaning of the interior of the centrifuge is often required after every cycle or several cycles, in order to ensure a defined product separation between two following batches, or to prevent an infection. The inside of the centrifuge with all built-in devices can be completely cleaned with an integrated CIP cleaning system without the need to open the centrifuge.
