Chloride Test Kit Small amount of sample is collected in a test tube and an indicator reagent is added to the sample. Use the dropper bottle, the titrant, until the color changes. To calculate the concentration just multiply the number of drops required by the titrant by a simple factor given in the test kit manual. The sample is titrated with Silver Nitrate Standard Solution in the presence of Potassium Chromate. The Silver Nitrate reacts with Chloride present to produce insoluble White Silver Chloride. After all the Chloride has been precipitated the Silver ions react with the excess Chromate present to form a red brown Silver Chromate precipitate, marking the end point of titration.

The RXSOL Passivation Test Kit is an easy and economical test kit to determine the Passiveness of austenitic stainless steel. Stainless steel is protected from corrosion by a thin layer that consists mainly of chromium oxide. Oxygen from the atmosphere is normally able to form and maintain this passive layer. Contamination, surface defects and imperfections disturb the formation and repair of the chromium oxide layer and reduce the resistance to severe or local corrosion. Therefore it is very important to test if your stainless steel is still passive to prevent corrosion and damage. The measure of passivation of stainless steel can be determined with a palladium chloride reagent. 2) Ferroxyl Test Kit for free IRON passivation ::: Part No:- RXSOL-62-5522-025 This test kist is specially designed to test of PICKLEDstaineless steel or to test of presence of embedded iron in the steel surface . Use the “ferroxyl test.” Spray the surface with a solution of potassium ferricyanide. If free iron is present, a blue color will appear. This test is extremely sensitive and often gives false positive results, that is, it gives an indication of iron being present when it really is not. The ferroxyl solution must be made fresh each day. Both the copper sulfate and the ferroxyl tests are described in ASTM A380. It is a very highly sensitive & hazardous test and should be used only when traces of free iron or iron oxide is "objectionable".
