Rajrappa Washery was commissioned in 1987 constructed by MS MAMC. Its installed capacity is 3.0MTY of raw coal feed which is highest in India as coking coal Washery. It is based on Jig washing technology. The washed coal produced is despatched to SAILRINL steel plants and the washed coal power is despatched to power plants.

Coal Washery is a captive facility that washes coal of soil and rock, crushes it into graded sized chunks (sorting) and stockpiles grades preparing it for transport to other plant for use.

The coal preparation division has rich experience in projects that involve construction and technical renovation, besides expertise in the design and consultancy for new coal preparation plants. At Ingwenya Mineral Tech, we have experienced and highly skilled personnel for the design of preparation plants to produce both power-generation coal as well as metallurgical and coking coal. What’s more, we also bring in expertise in the analysis of coal quality and selection of the most suitable technical process.

Coal and coal products are mainly used in the production of sponge iron, pig iron and in captive power plant. Coal is India's most abundant, safe and secure fossil fuel for use in Steel Plants, Cement plants and Sponge Iron Plants. However, the only problem is the limited availability of good quality coal. The ingress of extraneous dirt further deteriorates the quality. As a result coal of recommended grade is not available. A dedicated coal washery can only help the supply of washed clean coal of recommended quality to the user plants so as to avoid the disadvantages associated with inferior quality of available coal. Therefore a coal washery having beneficiated capacity of 125 TPH has been set up. The annual current beneficiation capacity is 700,000TPA. The installed capacity has been estimated at 18 hours of working per day and 312 days of working per annum.
