Companies can use this data to effectively train employees on the hazards associated with their job responsibilities and to identify the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to keep workers safe in the event of an arc flash incident. Employers in the electric power generation, transmission, distribution, and related fields were required to complete an arc flash risk assessment as part of OSHA’s final rule for 29 CFR 1910.269 in 2014.
