The setup consists of single cylinder, four strokes, Diesel engine coupled to a rope brake dynamometer / electrical dynamometer or Eddy Current Dynamometer for variable loading. The setup has standalone type independent panel box consisting of air box, fuel tank, manometer, fuel measuring unit. Engine jacket cooling water inlet, outlet and exhaust gas temperature is also measured. Arrangement for cooling water flow rate measurement is also provided. The setup enables study of engine for brake power, brake thermal efficiency, volumetric efficiency, specific fuel consumption, air fuel ratio and heat balance.
