For introducing the concept that friction depends on the nature and smoothness of materials.The kit consists of three wooden blocks about (l x w), 100 x 75mm, one with a mirror surface on one side, the second with a sandpaper surface and the third with a plane surface. There is a hook on one end in each of the three blocks. Includes a mirror about (l x w), 355 x 75mm.  

This kit provides a convenient introduction to frictional characteristics of different materials. The kit contains 3, 3x4 inch wood blocks; 1 with a mirror cemented to 1 side, 1 with sandpaper cemented to 1 side and 1 plain. A 3x14 inch mirror is supplied as the surface.

All brakes can be supplied on request with an electrical wear indicator which signals the limit of the friction block wear. The control lamp in the wear monitor indicates when the friction blocks need to be replaced. In addition, the output relay can trigger a signal in the central control station. Friction blocks with signal cable are used to monitor wear. Cable length 25 cm with plug connection.
