Details : The Schlenk line (also vacuum gas manifold) is a commonly used chemistry apparatus developed by Wilhelm Schlenk. It consists of a dual manifold with several ports. One manifold is connected to a source of purified inert gas, while the other is connected to a high-vacuum pump. The inert gas line is vented through an oil bubbler, while solvent vapors and gaseous reaction products are prevented from contaminating the vacuum pump through a liquid nitrogen or dry ice/acetone cold trap. Special stopcocks or Teflon taps allow for vacuum or inert gas to be selected without the need for placing the sample on a separate line. Schlenk lines are useful for safely and successfully manipulating air sensitive compounds. The high vacuum is also often used to remove the last traces of solvent from a sample. Vacuum gas manifolds often have many ports and lines, and with care it is possible for several reactions or operations to be run simultaneously.

Manifolds are used to connect two or more high pressure cylinders together for higher flow rates or for higher storage capacity. The manifolds could be arranged in a single row or in cases where space is a constraint, could be arranged facing each other. In most cases, to ensure zero downtime, at a time only cylinders in one of the rows are used. When gas in this row is depleted, the gas in the other row is used and cylinders in the earlier row are sent for refilling. The manifold system could be made of brass or SS. See below the CAD layout of a 6 x 6 manifold system. The cylinders are connected using flexible hose to the manifold block valve mounted on the manifold block. The manifold blocks on one arm of the system are connected by a header pipe. The pressure on manifold arm is indicated by the pressure gauge. The manifold arm is connected to the pressure regulator through a non-return valve and a needle valve. The drawing on the right illustrates the connection details of the manifold valve and the pressure gauge on the manifold. CO2 manifold system enables a consumer to draw CO2 gas at a single point and avoids mishandling of CO2 cylinders at different locations at the shop floor. This battery system for using the cylinders at one point eliminates the carriage of individual cylinders at different locations where MIG welding sets/user/water dosing systems are located. With our Pressure Reduction Station the pressure of the gas is reduced at the battery itself so that low-pressure gas (as required by the user) is sent through the pipeline. With proper instrumentation and inter-locking, a safe system is designed for trouble free service. The system consists of minimum two links whereas one is connected with the outlet and other with inlet.CO2 is transported in liquid phase either in cylinders or in storage tankers but it is used in gaseous state in beverages and other uses. CO2 is evaporated and expanded to lower pressure, in this expansion operation cooling occurs which can choke the entire system, resulting in pressure oscillation and CO2 losses can take place. SSGLA system avoids all such problems. The main equipment out of this is the SSGLA Filter cum SCRS system, with which we can achieve the following advantages. No internal freezing. No pressure oscillation. Clean CO2 as the impurities get filtered off. No interruption in CO2 supply during cylinder change. Saving of energy, CO2 and time are the main advantage. No outside heater/steam required. Neat and clean system which leads to near surroundings. No full time operator required. Our system makes it possible to supply gaseous CO2 at any desired outlet pressure.
