ROTARY GEL TIME RECORDER ‘CI’ Rotary gelation timers are perfect for determining the gel time of Resinous plastics, adhesives, crying oils, two component elastomers, and paints. A low torque, synchronous motor rotates a specially shaped stirrer in the catalyzed resin or elastomer. As gelation occurs, drag exceeds torque and the motor stalls. This signals an electronic circuit which stops the clock . The gel time will show on the LCD display. Simple to operate - place the material sample in the cup, insert the wire stirrer, set the counter to 0 and switch on the Unit. Plastic Gel Timer is an apparatus for determining the gel time of resinous plastic adhesives drying oils and two component elastomers and paints. The model ET-216 produces gel time with accuracy at Ambient or shop temperatures. It is designed to withstand hard use.The material sample is placed in a cheap paper throw-away cup on to the base of unit. The wire stirrer is inserted, counter is set to zero and tester switched on. When gel occurs, the time is read and the cup and stirrer can be thrown away. The motor can remain stalled overnight
