What is GGBS? Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag is a waste product of the steel industry that can be upcycled in cement to increase the strength and durability of concrete. A by-product of the steel-making industry, Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) is produced by the rapid cooling of iron ore slag. Application of GGBS: GGBS is used to make durable concrete structures in Combination with ordinary Portland cement and/or other pozzolanic materials. The application of GGBFS is mainly as a clinker substitution in blended slag and normal cement production, and as a supplementary cementitious material in ready-mixed and site-batched concrete production

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) is a high-quality by-product obtained during the production of iron in blast furnaces. It is a glassy, granular material formed when molten slag is rapidly quenched with water. Once cooled, this material is dried and ground into a fine powder with cementitious properties. Composition and Properties GGBS consists mainly of calcium silicate and alumina silicates, making it a reactive material for construction applications. Key characteristics include: Glass Content: >95%, ensuring high reactivity and superior quality. Fineness: Enhanced through ball mills and high-pressure roller press mills to meet specific requirements for construction purposes. Specific Gravity: Typically, around 2.85-2.90.

We are one of the reputed Manufacturers, Exporters and Suppliers of Blast Furnace Slag. The Blast Furnace Slag is formed when iron ore or iron pellets, coke and a flux (either limestone or dolomite) are melted together in a blast furnace. When the metallurgical smelting process is complete, the lime in the flux chemically combines with the aluminates and silicates of the ore and coke ash to form a non-metallic product called blast furnace slag. During the period of cooling and hardening from its molten state, BF slag can be cooled in several ways to form any of several types of BF slag products.

Ground-granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBFS or GGBS) is obtained by quenching molten iron slag (a by-product of iron and steel-making) from a blast furnace in water or steam, to produce a glassy, granular product that is then dried and ground into a fine powder. The main components of blast furnace slag are CaO, SiO2, Al2O3 and MgO.GGBFS is used to make durable concrete structures in combination with ordinary portland cement and/or other pozzolanic materials.Use of GGBFS significantly reduces the risk of damages caused by alkali–silica reaction (ASR), provides higher resistance to chloride ingress — reducing the risk of reinforcement corrosion — and provides higher resistance to attacks by sulfate and other chemicals.

Granulated blast furnace slag or gbfsis the residue of combustion in the furnace of the steel refining process. It is obtained by quenching molten iron slag from a blast furnace in water or steam, to produce a glassy, granular product that is then dried and ground into a fine powder. Ggbfs or ground granulated blast furnace slag is formed when gbfs is further processed or ground using conventional cement clinker grinding technology. Uses and benefits of gbfsggbfs uses : ãâ· ggbfs or gbfs is the most used raw material in cement industry to make slag cement. Ãâ· lightweight fill ãâ· raw material for the manufacture of glass ãâ· gbfs can be used as a substitute for sand in building materials ãâ· ggbfs can be used as a replacement for portland cement benefits : ãâ· reduced chloride permeability ãâ· improved resistance to sulphate attack ãâ· reduced heat of hydration in mass concrete ãâ· better workability ãâ· environmental friendly ãâ· improved compressive and flexural strength ãâ· reduced alkali-silica reaction ãâ· less bleeding ãâ· long slump retention ãâ· better reflectance ãâ· greater durability and thermal resistance ãâ· brighter color and reduced electricity

Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) is a by-product from the blast-furnaces used to make iron. Blast furnaces are fed with controlled mixture of iron-ore, coke and limestone, and operated at a temperature of about 1,500°C. When iron-ore, coke and limestone melt in the blast furnace, two products are produced—molten iron, and molten slag. The molten slag is lighter and floats on the top of the molten iron. The molten slag comprises mostly silicates and alumina from the original iron ore, combined with some oxides from the limestone. The process of granulating the slag involves cooling of molten slag through high-pressure water jets. This rapidly quenches the slag and forms granular particles generally not bigger than 5 mm. The rapid cooling prevents the formation of larger crystals, and the resulting granular material comprises around 95% non-crystalline calcium-alumino silicates. The granulated slag is further processed by drying and then grinding in a vertical roller mill/rotating ball mill to a very fine powder, which is GGBS. Applications of GGBS Powder · Replacement of cement for super structure Ready Mix Concrete Cement Manufacturing Precast Manufacturing Packing Details: 25 kg HDPE Bags, 50 Kg HDPE Bags, 1 ton Jumbo Bags and As per Customer's requirements.

Application GGBS is used to make durable concrete structures in combination with ordinary Portland cement and/or other pozzolanic materials. GGBS has been widely used in Europe, and increasingly in the United States and in Asia (particularly in Japan and Singapore) for its superiority in concrete durability, extending the lifespan of buildings from fifty years to a hundred years. Two major uses of GGBS are in the production of quality-improved slag cement, namely Portland Blast furnace cement (PBFC) and high-slag blast-furnace cement (HSBFC), with GGBS content ranging typically from 30 to 70%; and in the production of ready-mixed or site-batched durable concrete. Use of GGBS significantly reduces the risk of damages caused by alkalisilica reaction (ASR), provides higher resistance to chloride ingress reducing the risk of reinforcement corrosion - and provides higher resistance to attacks by sulfate and other chemicals. The use of GGBS in concrete results in following environmental benefits Saves energy Reduces emission of carbon dioxide Conserves natural resources.
