All maintenance activities will be carried out in service area which can locate outside the clean room by installing the machine through the wall. The horizontal peeler centrifuge is known for its many advantages from its horizontal rotation arrangement of the basket. By arranging the axis horizontally, advantages in washing capability, uniform solid size distribution for better solid output quality. The feeding action in centrifuge is effective as the feeds are fed perpendicularly to gravity and centrifugal force spreads out the solids evenly on basket inner surface. Also the casing of the centrifuge can be fully opened which allows easy access to inside of rotating basket. This also means the operator can get access to internal components including filter cloth which required replacement. And its high discharge speed reduces time taken to accelerate and braking for rotation for high capacity, so does power consumption, wear and tear. This short cycle time is particularly beneficial for short cycle, fast-filtering requirements for certain processes. This means these centrifuges provide higher centrifugal forces than vertical centrifuges, and increases performances and flexibility. Due to continuous discharge of filtered liquid through perforated inner surface of rotating basket, the pressure drop, main driving force of filtration is increased across the solid cake and filter medium; as a result, the filtration rate can be boosted. Moreover, high rotational speed results high rotational force which allows lowering residual cake moisture effectively, so does the washing liquid and washing results. Because of effective washing, drying processes that yield high purity of output.

Horizontal Peeler Centrifuge (Horizontal Discontinuous Separation) Peeler centrifuge operates on the principle of centrifugal force to separate solids from liquids by density difference. The high rotation speed provides high centrifugal force that allows the suspended solid in feed to settle on the inner surface of drum. The washing processes are performed at the same rotational speed and in same centrifuge vessel. The unique feature of Peeler Centrifuge Horizontal Peeler Centrifuge is the constant basket speed which allows all operations like feeding drying discharging to be carried out at full basket speed. Rotofilt Peeler centrifuges are offered both in the batch and continuous centrifuge processes. This process are determined to achieve maximum removal of solid from liquid that may be required to be as pure as possible and not be easily separated by differences their densities.

  Our Horizontal Pharma Peeler is a batch type automatic / semi automatic filtering centrifuge. The axis of rotation of the basket in this centrifuge is horizontal. It is ideally suited for a clean room installation - “through the wall” using a flexible membrane as required in pharmaceutical applications.    Operation:             Slurry is fed into the rotating basket using a feed pipe.  Washing (using a wash pipe) and dewatering cycles are carried out. Liquid is discharged through a     sloping discharge pipe at the lowest point.  Solids are peeled using a full-length knife and are discharged by gravity from a nozzle on the front    of outer body. The centrifuge is   designed to perform feeding, washing and peeling at maximum    speed depending on material characteristics. Best for a “through the wall” installation – with complete    separation of the process area    (feed,     wash,solid discharge)   from service area   (liquid outlet, motor, hydraulic power pack,    bearing housing). The entire bearing  housing is removable from the service area. Fully opening outer body giving full access to basket (inside, outside and rear), peeler knife, and     other inner parts for cleaning,inspection, validation and swab tests. The horizontal axis of rotation. High speed rotating machine, classified as “High G” centrifuges. Higher G-force leads to faster dewatering & lower residual moisture. Clean room installation to separate the process area & service area. Designed for ease of cleaning and validation with full access to all process wetted parts, assured by a fully openable casing. An effective residual heel removing system ensures almost complete removal of the cake after each centrifuging batch. cGMP Design Surface Finish Mirror or Matt Finish can be provided with Grit 220 & Above on Contact & Non-Contact areas. Drive A.C.  Inverter Drive shall be provided to vary the basket speed with built-in dynamic braking. Cleaning-In-Place (C.I.P.) Arrangement Provided in the centrifuge machine to clean the internals of the centrifuge.  CIP nozzles are placed at a different location to spray the wash liquid to all the surface which are not accessible from outside. During the cleaning process the centrifuge basket to be operated at a low speed to make cleaning more effective. The 4-Point Suspension The centrifuge is mounted on inertia platform and suspended over four vibration-isolating dampers. This provides the following unique advantages: No foundation required Modular Design with Complete Flexibility to relocate the centrifuge anywhere in the plant. Drive system (Belt & Pulleys) totally enclosed and can be purged with Nitrogen gas (Flameproof Design). Cake Sensor (Mechanical / Ultrasonic) Can be provided to limit the cake thickness in the basket. The range of the cake thickness can be adjusted to avoid material overflow.   SAFETY FEATURES Zero Speed Interlock The pneumatic cylinder will automatically get engaged with the lid as soon as basket starts rotating and gets disengaged only when it completely stops which will ensure that the lid can be opened only when the basket comes to a complete halt. Proximity Sensor Shall be provided as a safety interlock for the Lid / Body. Unless the Lid / Body is closed motor cannot start and once the lid is opened motor power cuts off. Vibration Tripper Will trip the Centrifuge during excessive vibration. Vibration Monitoring System This system shall continuously monitor the vibration level of the machine. The system has two set point, one set point is for Alarm level and another set point is for a trip level. The system also gives 4-20 amps output which can be hooked up to PLC. Nitrogen Blanketing System/ Nitrogen Inertisation System The Nitrogen Inertisation is provided to the centrifuge basket chamber (casing) and to the bearing housing (sealing system). This system shall ensure that during the centrifuge operation the adequate nitrogen pressure is maintained within the basket chamber and bearing housing stuffing box chamber. Therefore, creating a Flame Proof System. Note: Oxygen Analyzer can be provided in the vent line. AUTOMATION Programmable Logic Controller All the process cycles of centrifuge operations can be automated through a Programmable Logic Controller. The instruments mounted on the machine will communicate with the PLC system. The process cycles can be specifically designed and programmed to work according to the logic. Note: Intrinsically Safe Graphical control display (H.M.I) can be provided. Heel Blowback System The centrifuge machine is fitted with rest cake heel blowback system, which will remove the rest cake heel after the scraping operation. Temperature Monitoring System for Bearings The temperature sensors are fitted in the main bearing housing and will continuously monitor the temperature rise in the bearings. The system will communicate with the PLC & temperature rise can be displayed on the HMI.
