The Pressure leaf filters is a vertical steel vessel where many vertically mounted S.S. filter leaves are housed inside with the help of properly designed manifold. The Pressure Leaf filters are suitable for filter aid (pre-coat) type of filtration, i.e. filter aid bleaching earth fuller earth etc. has to be added for filtration. The filter leaves, filter on both sides due to which gross leaf filtration area obtained is more in relatively small sized vessel. The required oil slurry is pumped into the filter vessel, clear filtration starts as the sufficient cake is built over the leaf surfaces and filtered oil comes out through the manifold. The solid keeps getting accumulated on the filter leaves and a thick cake is formed. Once the pressure reaches 3.5 Kgcm2, the cake is dried with hot airsteam and relived from the leaves by pneumatically operated piston vibrator and drops through a large size bottom outlet. The design pressure is 4Kgcm2 & design temperature is 120deg.C

The Vertical pressure leaf filters are highly useful in filtration of slurry. It is mounted on four legs, with the internal Leaves being mounted on manifolds. For opening and closing the filter it is provided with eye bolts and devit and devit arm for the rotatable arrangement. There is no need to open the lid during the discharge of the cake, as the pneumatic vibrator system is provided on the top of leaf filters to dislodge the cake.

the pressure leaf filter is a ms/ss vertical vessel with filter leaves inside. The leaves are mounted vertically on a common manifold pipe, through which the filtered liquid flows out. On the top, the leaves are held by a vibrating shaft . A mechanical vibrator driven by electric motor/pneumatic vibrator is provided for vibrating the leaf shaft for cake discharge. Jacket for hot filtration can be offered if desired over flow, vent/steam/air charging, pressure gauge & safety valve are provided on the top. the top cover is provided with devit arm mechanism for raising the lid for cleaning/ removing the leaves. “i” bolts are provided for quick opening and closing of top lid. A mechanical jack is provided to lift the top for cleaning/removing the leaves. Lugs are provided for mounting the plf. the filter leaves filter on both sides and hence a large filtration area is obtained in a relatively small vessel.

Vertical Pressure Leaf Filter (VPLF) are industrial scale filtration devices that are often used in scenarios where high flow rates are required. These are typically vertical in orientation, The design typically consists of vertical cylindrical shell, housing number of vertically mounted filter leaves, fitted on common manifold. Each filter leaf is made of 3 or 5 layers of stainless meshes. The slurry is pumped under pressure in to the vessel. As the liquid passes through the wire mesh, the solids particles are trapped, while the filtered liquid called the filtrate, passes through into collection outlet (Manifold). The cake after filtration can be dried by passing steam or air or nitrogen. Dried cake is dislodged from bottom through a butterfly valve by a pneumatic vibrator attached to filter leaves.
