It is primarily used as an additive in the production of steel and other ferrous alloys to improve the mechanical and chemical properties of the final product.   Ferro Manganese is produced by smelting a mixture of manganese ore, iron ore, and coke or other carbonaceous material in an electric arc furnace or a blast furnace. The resulting ferroalloy is then refined to remove impurities and adjust the composition to meet specific customer requirements.   The addition of Ferro Manganese to steel can improve its strength, toughness, and resistance to wear, corrosion, and high temperatures.
