Microcontroller Visual Melting Point Apparatus Model 3935 with Graphical LCD display and colored TFT screen and high resolution camera. It is designed for accurate measurement of melting points and for checking the melting range of the solid samples. The apparatus consists of a silicon oil bath of about 200 ml capacity, covered with a Teflon cover with 5 holes, fitted with a special type of oil immersion heater and having three holes for holding the capillaries, one for boiling point tube and one for the thermometer. The plateau temperature and the heating ramp rates are fully programmable using ‘Plateau’/ ‘Ramp’. The plateau temperature allows the user to set a temperature to few degrees below the expected melting point temperature. Auto melting point apparatus will then heat to the programmed plateau temperature very rapidly. Once plateau temperature is reached the instrument will heat slowly from the plateau temperature until the powder melts on programmed ramp rate. A high resolution camera detects the sample status. This makes it a user friendly instrument. IT CONSISTS OF AN ALLUMINIUM BLOCK WHICH ACCEPTS THREE CAPILLARY TUBES AND A MERCUTY THERMOMETER. THE BLOCK IS HEATED BY TWO ELEMENTS CLAMPED TO THE SIDES. THE BUILT IN LAMP PROVIDES UNIFORM AND SHADOWLESS ILLUMINATION OF SAMPLE TUBE WHICH ARE VIWED THROUGH THE MAGNIFYING LENS AGAINST EITHER A DARK OR BRIGHT GROUND SELECTED BY ROTATING A KNOW TO THE REAR OF THE APPARATUS . A BUILT IN A ROTARY THEOSTAT GIVES ACCURATE ADJUSTMENT OF THE RATE OF INCREASE OF TEMPERATURE AS MELTING POINT IS APPROACHED. BOTH THE HEATERS ARE KEPT 'ON' IN THE 'LOW' AS WELL AS 'HIGH' POSITION OF THE TOGGLE SWITCH, THUS ENSURING UNIFORM HEATING FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE BLOCK. A SECOND TOGGLE SWITCH ON THE RIGHT SIDE CONNECTS THE LAMP AND POWER INPUT TO THE APPARATUS. .
