The DK’s Membrane Level Sensor is a simple and economical instrument suitable for the minimum and maximum level control inside silos or hoppers that contain non sticky materials, powders or granules like rice, corns, plastics, coffee, sand, lime, etc. A membrane level sensor provides level indication by detecting pressure applied by the bulk material to the sensing membrane. The unit is installed to a vessel wall so that the membrane is exposed to the material to be sensed. As material contacts the membrane, a force is exerted through the diaphragm to a pressure plate within the level sensor. Physical deflection of the pressure plate actuates an internal micro switch for signaling alarms, lights or PLC inputs. When material recedes from the membrane, a light duty spring returns the pressure plate and internal switch back to their original positions. Humidity and temperature variations do not affect working; the membrane is collision and vibration proof.

Molex standard membrane switches are thin, low-profile, micro-motion assemblies, with one or more layers of silver or carbon conductors printed on polyester substrate layers. Pressure-sensitive adhesives are used to bond the layers together. Assemblies can be designed as thin as 1.00mm. Tactile metal domes provide the "snap" or tactile feedback and audible sound when the switch is actuated. Available options include non-tactile membrane switches (ex, microwave ovens, treadmills), poly-domes and silicone rubber keypads with carbon or gold contacts. Molex membrane switch assemblies incorporate electronic components, such as LEDs, seven-segment LEDs, photo diodes resistors and capacitors that are integrated to the membrane switch substrate using conductive adhesive technology. This switch is designed and developed in-house. In order to switch capacitor banks in Manual mode, it is necessary to wire up the panels with multiple auxiliary contactors, push-buttons, indicating lamps, timers, etc. The functionality of all the sundry switchgear is built into this electronic module. The required controlled wiring is reduced to 1/10th of what is required with conventional wiring set-up. Feedback indications are provided with LEDs on the Electronic Manual Switch to confirm the capacitor step status (ON or OFF). FEATURES : The instrument consists of a microswitch inside a cast aluminium box, covered by a flexible membrane of neoprene or silicon rubber. OPERATION : The device must be mounted so that the flexible membrane is exposed to the product whose level should be controlled in such a way that the product, if present, can press the membrane. When this membrane becomes covered up by the product, it moves under the product pressure, thereby working the microswitch. The device must be connected to control signal or to mechanisms driving the product transportation systems, like feeding, unloading ,etc. APPLICATION : Switch has a buoyancy which guarantees smooth, trouble-free operation under all conditions. The switch has double chamber and a final remoulding finish to make it absolutely hermetic. INSTALLATION : MODEL DLS-AL-ND (with neoprene diaphragm) or DLS-AL-SD (with silicon rubber diaphragm) level switch is used for indicating, controlling, and regulating the level of granulated or powdered dry materials with a grain diameter up to 30mm and a density of 0.3 to 2.5 g/cm3, flowing through a silo, hopper or conduit. INSTRUCTIONS AND MOUNTING : The device can be installed outside the container by making a hole on the wall, so that the membrane remains exposed to the product inside. Suspended by means of a tube, it can be also installed inside the container. Using adaptors, it can be installed in pipes and conduits. Wherever possible level switch should be mounted on vertical surfaces. By this means ,the product can flow freely downwards, and wrong indications are avoided. It can be mounted on surfaces with a slope of not more than 30degrees from vertical, provided that the product leaves the membrane thoroughly free when flowing along. If maximum levels are to be controlled, the devices must be mounted at such a height that the product overflowing the membrane can exert pressure on this membrane, working the microswitch.

A membrane Keyboard has two screen printed polyester films with conductive ink to form the circuit layer of the Keyboard. Between the two circuits, a die-cut spacer at contact points is placed. To complete the circuit a touch of finger on the die-cut holes allows to close the contact. Upon release, the circuit is broken. User can specify the specific key contacts through a Graphic overlay. For interfacing with the customer’s electronics, the panel back is laminated with an adhesive for mounting on a backer or enclosure which can be terminated to a malefemale clincher connector.
