Description : Pepsize 200 is a Oxidized maize starch having good adhesive & cohesive property for coating and surface sizing .Properties : Good paste stability, clarity and reduced tendency to retrograde. Lower pasting temperature. Provides tough, clear and flexible filns. Pastes are more stable to salts and had water than pastes of cationic or other anionic starches. Application : The use of Pepsize 200 in size solutions of high solids to seal pores, tie down loose surface, fibres, improve surface strength and to provide hold out printing inks.Advantages : Pepsize 200 provides the paper maker:- Improved printability and pigment coating Improved brightness, smoothness Improved surface strength and provides hold out of printing inks Preparation : Pepsize 200 is slurried in cold water till free of lumps at desired solids The slurry can be cooked either by direct steam injection or in jacketed cooker, along with agitation to 95oC for about 20 minutes.
