The design of the heating systems provide for shielding of the loads from the detrimental effects of direct radiant heat or flame impingement while promoting efficient uniform heating of the loads. Electric Heating Systems Electric Pusher Furnaces employ various styles of resistance type electric heaters to maintain the integrity of the furnace atmosphere and thermal efficiencies. Heaters can be supplied as either standard open resistance wire/strip type. Thyristor power controllers with control panel door mounted diagnostics displays are standard for Knackwell Pusher Furnaces, with optional PLC and PC systems integration available. A charging pusher is an Electro-Mechanical or Hydraulic device which is used for feeding or charging of raw material ( Like ingots, billets etc ) into the reheating furnace.Various components which are used in the manufacturing of a Charging pusher are: Heavy steel slab frame, pushing screw with pushing slab, multi stage type reduction gear box or a hydraulic power pack with alloy steel shafts in case of a hydraulic pusher.

These furnaces are capable of operating at temperature upto 1000 Deg.C. The items to be heat treated are charged into the furnaces on trays and the loaded trays are pushed into the furnace one by one. After heating and soaking, the material comes out of the furnace and removed from the platform. These furnaces are suitable for normalising, stress relieving and other heating process of various types of components. The oil consumption is 60-65 ltrstonne when steel forgings are normalised or hardened.

A multi-zone control environment is present in continuous high temperature furnaces, often with a single pre-heating zone, followed by multiple heating zones and then cooling zones before exit. Due to the high temperatures involved most of these furnaces operate under controlled and protective atmospheres, with inert gases such as nitrogen and argon used for initial purging, and gas mixtures or gases like cracked ammonia or hydrogen or endogas used to create a suitable atmosphere as per process parameters.

These Heat Treatment Furnaces comprise of Tray Pusher type Hardening and Tempering Furnaces with Quenching facilities for polymer or oil as per the process requirement. WHF Bhopal - Tray pusher furnaceTrays loaded with material are charged on the hearth over side by side skid rails so that it can be pushed into the furnace by means of pneumaticallyhydraulically operated pusher mechanism. Trays with material will be discharged at the opposite end of hardening furnace and will be placed over the cradle of the quenching system, which will immerse the charge tray with the material into the quench tank. After the quenching cycle is over, cradle will lifted up from the quenching tank and will be moved forward to the charge side of tempering furnace by means of electro-mechanical discharge roller conveyor. Trays with material, one by one, will again be charged on the hearth of the Tempering Furnace side-by-side so that it can be pushed from charging end to the discharging end by means of pneumaticallyhydraulically operated pusher mechanism. Trays loaded with material one by one can be end discharged at the opposite end of the tempering furnace in the unloading area where the material can be unloaded by means of hoist or tilting mechanism or manually. The empty trays can be brought to loading area of the Hardening Furnace for the next cycle over conveyors.
