Hot rolled pickled and oiled (P&O) is a product with an enhanced surface finish due to the pickling process.  The process of creating hot rolled P&O begins with basic hot rolled steel. To create the enhanced surface finish of hot rolled P&O the hot rolled goes through a pickling process. The pickling process removes the thin layer of oxidized iron (black oxide scale) that forms on the surface of the steel. This is done using acid baths. Once the acid is rinsed and the product is dried oil is applied to prevent the steel from rusting. This is a Medium Carbon cold rolled steel strip l with a very high yield strength. This allows objects made of this steel to return to their original shape despite significant bending or twisting after hardening and tempering. usually in soft annealed condition but can also be supplied in temper rolled hardness in range between 200-300Hv ( band range is +-40 Hv ) This grade of steel strip is used where fatigue values and elastic limits are not critical, is used for applications in which high strength, hardness and wear resistance are important. This grade of steel strips has good forming , blanking and bending properties.

Cold Rolled steel is produced by 6-Hi Reversing Cold Rolling Mills. These mills are equipped with latest technologies of configurations comprising of Mill Management System, ABB make Advent technology system, Automatic Gauge Control System and ABB make Digital DC Drives which assures the quality and prescribed limit of thickness of the materials. This automation process enables the reduction of thickness of material up to 90 %, i.e. as thin as 0.10 mm as per customer's demand and International requirements.
