Vacuum filters allow a more complete separation of solids from liquids than other mechanical dewatering filters. Vacuum filters are not as dependent on specific gravity differentials for the degree of clarity, nor are they subject to upset due to variation in the process.The scraper serves mainly as a deflector to direct the cake, dislodged by an air blowback, into the discharge chute, since actual contact with the medium would cause rapid wear. In some cases the filter medium is held by circumferentially wound wires spaced 50 mm (2 in) apart, and a flexible scraper blade may rest lightly against the wire winding.

They are very useful in the long run and are easily installed without much investment and hassle.In Drum Flaker, one end of the drum is connected to a gearbox, which is driven by a motor. The cooling water is circulated in the drum during operation. The drum operates at a low speed and the fed liquid in the bottom tray is picked by the drum surface and cooled to less than the melting point of the material, thus forming flakes on the surface. It is continuous operation and requires minimal manpower. The entire items are mounted on base frames and Conveyor, Double drum, Machine cover are optional.

Rotary Vacuum Filter The most common types of continuous vacuum filter is the rotary drum filter. A horizontal drum with a slotted face turns at less than 2 RPM in an agitated slurry trough. A filter medium, such as canvas, covers the face of drum, which is partly submerged in the liquid. Under the slotted cylindrical face of the main drum is a second, smaller drum with a solid surface. Between the two drums are radial partitions dividing the annular space into separate compartments, each connected by an internal pipe to one hole in the rotating plate of the rotary valve Vacuum and air are alternately applied to each compartment as the drum rotates.
