Silicone also has excellent compression set and good release characteristics. It has extreme low and high temperature resistance, and is usually the material of choice in all food grade applications. Silicone also has excellent thermal stability, which make it a material of choice for applications where dielectric strength and power factor requires to be unaffected by temperature changes. Silicone forms tight seals and repels water making it suitable for many marine and food grade applications. Silicone rubber is best at maintaining its properties over the widest range of temperatures. Products details: Available in Hardness range 40-80° Shore A in all colours. Heat range 205°C Continuous, 300°C Intermittent. Low temp resistance of -60°C. Not recommended for applications where concentrated solvents, oils, and acids are present. Also has high gas permeability, and is relatively higher cost than other synthetic polymers such as EPDM and Nitrile.
