Diamonds are sensitive to shock and impact. The dresser must be clamped rigidly in place to avoid vibration once dressing begins. Depth of cut per stroke of the dresser must be 0.01-0.03 mm max. An ample supply of coolant should be applied directly to the diamond point before dressing begins, as the sudden application of coolant to the diamond once it has heated up can cause it to shatter. The diamond holder should not be set directly on the Center of the grinding wheel, but at an angle of 5-15° to the direction of rotation of the wheel. Turn the tool frequently 20 to 40 degrees to maintain a sharp point. This Diamond tools must be used in rotation system to increase efficiency. The prime reason for the popularity of these tools is the versatility offered by them, as they can be used for truing as well as dressing of grinding wheels. Manufactured using high quality raw diamond that is selected with utmost precaution, Comet single point diamond dresser is formed by either mounting a natural diamond or a bruted diamond at the top of the tool by using a special adhesive.

The original and the most basic dressing is the single point process, performed by a Single Point Diamond Dresser. Single Point Diamond Dresser, that we offer, can provide a very accurate profiling of the wheel, and is the simplest system, not requiring any special device. In this type, dressers with a selected diamond crystal mounted on a shank. The point of the set diamond is concentric with the shank. In wheel dressing by means of Single Point Diamond Dresser, normally a depth of cut of about 0.02-0.05 mm and a rapid traverse is applied till the wheel becomes true. For finishing, the depth of cut is reduced to 0.01-0.02 mm and the traverse is reduced to about 0.1 m/min. For dressing diamonds, normal working speed of grinding wheel is applied. The Single Point Diamond Dresser should be attached at an angle of 10°~15° from the horizontal axis of the grinding wheel. The maximum depth of cut achieved per dressing pass is 0.03 mm or on fine grit wheels, approximately 0.005-0.01 mm. The lower the feed rate, the finer the surface finish. We would recommend the following feed rates per revolution of the grinding wheel.
