In maximum hold updating mode, previous maximum value of the sound is displayed and the same remains unchanged until a higher value is detected. Choice of A and C weighting modes is provided. In A weighting mode, -8928 response matches the frequency spectrum of the human ear. A weighting response is useful for OSHA regulatory testing, environmental measurements, work place design, low enforcements etc. In C weighting mode, -8928 response matches the flat frequency spectrum with no increase or decrease of amplitude over the frequency spectrum. C weighting response is useful for sound level analysis of engines and machinery. Fast and slow response modes are provided to suit different applications and standards.
