Description : The platinized titanium anodes are used as insoluble anodes in modern electroplating bathes for hard chromium plating of rotogravure cylinders. Chromic acid solutions which are containing sulphuric acid are used as electrolyte. For hard chromium plating of rotogravure cylinders semicircular anodes respectively bent conforming anodes, which adapt very good to the cylinder shape, are used. In principle there are two different types of anodes (A and B) with one or two bows. The platinized anodes basically consist of titanium and are offered in three different types of mesh rib (G, N and F) in mesh shape. Platinised Titanium mesh / plate Anode for Gold Rhodium plating, Plate anode for Hard chrome plating. The coating thickness will be 1.5 micron  5 microns as per partys requirement. Platinised anodes replaced the conventional lead anodes a few decades ago. The platinised anode's long life, dimensional stability and shape forming to any geometry (fabricated into any shape) allows the plating chemistry to be easier to manage and maintain. They can be easily removed and or replaced whenever necessary. platinised anodes ( pt anode ) are produced by coating platinum ( pt ) on a specially treated precious metal ( titanium niobium tantalum zirconium ) substrate by means of electrodeposition process. They are economical as well as it retains the superior physical and chemical properties of platinum. Titanium Anodes are designed for the nominal life of 6 years & plus MMO coating is the excellent electrical conductor and giving good chemical stability, when it will be coated on Titanium base even in very low PH environments. Titanium MMO Anode remains dimensionally stable over time. Direct current transfer is accomplished through the mixed metal oxide catalyst, which is highly conductive and fully oxidized so that higher current outputs are possible (approximately 10 amps ft2 in fresh water and over 50 ampsft2 in salt water). This two part composition allows for a maximum current density and it can be used in sands with various levels of moisture and salt contents, acid environments with extremely low pH levels (under 1) and high chloride concentrations; it can be designed to provide effective protection for 6 years and more.i.e. the mixed metal oxide coating on the anodes has an almost negligible consumption rate of less than 1.0mg amp-yr.
