UHMWPE (also known as Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) Sheet and Rod products are manufactured from the semi-crystalline polyethylene (PE) family. Polystone UHMWPE Sheet has a minimal molecular weight of 9 million which has a positive impact on material performance in an abrasive environment.Polystone UHMWPE Sheet is available in various grades of material depending on the application requirements. Polystone grades available are Polystone 7000 (a virgin grade white UHMWPE sheet and rod product), Polystone 7000SR (a black static reduced sheet and rod product), Polystone 7000 Ultra (a green filled grade of sheet and rod) and Polystone 8000 (glass filled UHMWPE Sheet with a molecular weight of almost 10 million).

NovaStrong is made from UHMW-PE, a subset of the thermoplastic -polyethylene. It has extremely long chains, with molecular weight numbering in the millions, usually between 2 and 6 million, strengthening intermolecular interactions resulting in highest impact strength of any thermoplastic, very low coefficient of friction, self-lubricating, and is highly resistant to abrasion (15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel). Its coefficient of friction is significantly lower than that of Polyamide and Acetal, and is comparable to that of PTFE, but UHMWPE has better abrasion resistance than PTFE. Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene has polymer chains 10 to 20 times longer than high density polyethylene. The longer chains (higher molecular weight), gives major advantages in toughness, abrasion resistance, and freedom from stress-cracking. Since it is a polyethylene, UHMWPE shares the lubricity, chemical resistance and excellent electrical properties of conventional HDPE.
