The Renesas Gang programmer- Octoprog C is an RL78R8C Family device programmer that can program up to eight identical devices at the same time. Octoprog C connects to a host PC using USB and provides flexible programming options that allow the user to fully customize the process. This provides an economical and reliable means of programming a wide range of RL78R8C microcontroller units (MCUs). It is designed with a versatile hardware platform to support programming of different MCUs. This can be used to program eight devices simultaneously by copying data held in an internal flash memory to the MCUs internal memory. It provides an RS232 communication port for interfacing and automating the production programming process. Octoprog C works only with Crypto V300 or above software revisions CRYPTO software allows user to encrypt and download the hex-file from PC to Octoprog C using USB connection. Only if the encryption key in programmer and key used for hex-file encryption matches code will be successfully programmed. This help the user to share hex-file (encrypted) with EMS provider as the encrypted hex file can be used only with the respective programmer. In addition to this CRYPTO allows user to set number of targets to be programmed, once target count is reached programmer will wipe out its internal memory and won’t program any further targets. Crypto V300 Also displays the current target and files loaded on the connected Octoprog . User also can set a file ID which is needed in the AT command for initiation of programming, File ID helps to confirm the compatibility of required hex code on the programmer.

The multi-channel CPI2-Gx device programmer as well as the single-channel CPI2-B1 device programmer belongs to the ChipProg-ISP2 series of Phyton production in-system device programmers. ChipProg-ISP2 device programmers are intended for use in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) – programming fixtures and automated testers (ICT). A CPI2-Gx programmer is implemented as a compact motherboard carrying pluggable CPI2-GM1 programming modules. The programmer is enclosed in a plastic housing with a small fan. Following configurations with two to seven programming modules are available for ordering:   The software package, bundled with a standard CPI2-Gx kit, includes the Basic Device Library, and the CPI2-ACI license. This combination enables several types of control, including standalone operations, graphical user interface (GUI), command line, as well as the possibility to control the programmer from external applications, and an Application Control Interface (ACI) with SDK.
