Cylindrically shaped individual concrete moulds are placed on top of one another to form the chimney structure. The concrete structure is held together by an external skeleton in the form of a steel tower. External support allows the chimney to be minimally reinforced with steel avoiding cracks and damages during heat retention. The conical base of the chimney is constructed using precast concrete blocks, allowing flexibility to customise the shape and height of the base, and also the number and size of flue gas ducts. After the conical base is cured and ready, the modular rings are stacked on top of one another to complete the chimney structure. The concrete structure is secured to the exoskeleton at regular intervals during the construction process. The completed chimney is then painted and ready for commissioning.
