Features: Grids are punched out of AISI 304 / AISI 430 type stainless steel sheets or AISI - 406 i.e. FeCrAl Sheets. Temperature coefficient resistance is 0.094% per degree C for stainless steel AISI -304 & 0.15% per C for FeCrAI i.e. AISI -406 Connection between the adjacent grids can be of following type :- (A)Adjacent grids will be connected by using galvanized Nut-Bolts using spring washers. (B) With Tig welded joints, which are totally secured against intense vibration. Terminals can be brought down at the bottom for ease of connection if asked. Each grid element is supported on Tie rods. Hence the assembly of resistance unit becomes very sturdy and it can absorb intense vibrations. Grids are insulated from M.S. tie rod by using Mica tube. Galvanised / Aluminium pipe / MS Washers will be provided as spacer between grid elements and the same will be insulated from grids by using Mica washers. NGR are particularly used at transmission voltage levels, when autotransformers with a delta tertiary are employed. Neutral Grounding Reactors (NGRs), normally installed between the transformer or generator neutral and ground, are effective in controlling single line to ground faults since, in general, the system short circuit impedance is largely reactive. Ngr’s are used to connect the neutral phase and the earth to limit the earth fault current to a safe value thereby protecting the transformer, generator system. The Typical operation conditions are A No Earth Fault: Continuous current (5 % to 10 % of full load current) may pass through the resistor due to system unbalance or Earth Fault Condition where restricted fault current passes through the resistor protecting the system till automatic protection takes place. NEUTRAL GROUNDING RESISTOR (NGR) is used for the resistance grounding of Power Systems. Earthing through Resistor is the most common, economical and effective solution for impedance earthing. It is used, when the Neutral of the supply transformer is available and its own impedance is not enough to limit the fault current. Inserting a Resistor between the Neutral of the Generator/Transformer and Ground serves to limit the maximum Fault Current to a predetermined value. NGTR Panel Cubicle encloses Neutral Grounding Transformer (NGT) and Neutral Grounding Resistor (NGR) for grounding earthing of Neutral current during unbalanced three phase load of the generator. This is essentially required for protection of the generator. Neutral Grounding Transformer (NGT) steps down the voltage of neutral bus from 6.6 KV 11 KV 15.75 KV level to 110 Volt or 220 Volt level. This stepped down voltage is connected to a netral grounding resistance and a ground earth terminal fro bringing the voltage level of neutral bus as close as possible to zero voltage level

The Neutral Grounding Resistors are generally employed in the LV and MV distribution networks to protect power transformers and generators from damaging currents in the event of earth fault. This protection system represents the best choice in terms of fast response to localize the fault and consequently to reduce and prevent the overheating and mechanical stress on the conductors. Alternative protection systems like insulated neutral or direct earthing neutral have several and significant disadvantages such as dangerous transient over-voltages and high difficulties to localize the ground fault in the insulated systems or damaging fault currents with possible arc blast in the earthing neutral systems. By inserting the Neutral Grounding Resistors with appropriate characteristics between the neutral point of the transformer and the ground it is possible to limit the ground fault current for a short time to allow a quick localization of the fault but, at the same time, it does not damage the equipments.
