Paecilomyces lilacinus (2 X 108 ¢lU/8m- mlmmum) (Mother culture: Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore) Talc based Formulation. Paecilomyces lilacinus has been one of the principal genera of importance in bio-control studies in recent years. Paecilomyces lilacinus, a bio-control fungus, protects the root system against diseases caused by plant parasitic nematodes, specifically root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.), reniform nematodes (Rotylenchulus reniformis), burrowing nematodes (Radopholus similes) and citrus nematodes (Tylenchulus semipenetrans). These nematodes infect agricultural and horticultural crops of economic importance. This bio-agent colonizes the root surface and is an antagonistic fungus, strongly parasitic to eggs and egg-masses of plant parastic nematodes. BIONICONEMA can destroy upto 90% of eggs and 75%-80% of egg- masses of nematodes. Therefore, after one tor two applications, you observe a plummeting fall in the nematode population. This is because few eggs survive to hatch new generations.Packaging 500gm LDPE bag 1 kg LDPE bag

One of the major problems in plantation and horticultural crops including vegetables are nematodes. Scientific study reports about 20,000 identified soil nematodes. Nematodes feed damage the plant roots and reduce the water and nutrient uptake which results in reduction in yield. In addition, the infested plant becomes more vulnerable to other stress factors such as heat, water shortage, nutritional deficiencies and disease causing organisms. It is difficult to control these nematodes with common chemical pesticides. Addressing this crisis, Varsha Bioscience and Technology India Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (ICAR), Bangalore has come up with a unique formulation called Mysis. It is a talc based formulation of nematophagous fungus, Paecilomyces lilacinus, that is capable of parasitizing nematode eggs, juveniles and females, and thus reduces the plant parasitic nematode population in the soil. All crops including Banana, Capsicum, Tomato, Brinjal, Onion, Chilli, Crossandra, Okra, Tuberose, Acid lime and Papaya. A thorough bio-efficacy study revealed the effective control of the following nematode species: Meloidogyne spp. (Root knot nematodes) Radopholus similis (Burrowing nematode) Heterodera spp. and Globodera spp. (Cyst nematodes) Pratylenchus spp. (Root lesion nematodes) Rotylenchulus reniformis (Reniform Nematode) Nacobbus spp. (False Root knot Nematodes) However, there is a scope for the control of several other nematode population of agriculture importance, if Mysis is applied and studied on scientific basis. Mysis could be used through drip irrigation. Mix 2 kg of Mysis in 30 litre water and feed. Through the feeder continue the drip with water for 30 minutes before doing the drip irrigation. Treat the seeds with Mysis @ 10g/Kg of seed & treat the nursery beds @ 50g/sq.m. Alternatively apply omega enriched FYM* @ 2 tons/ acre to the soil before transplanting and at an interval of 3 months after planting for a period of one year. Enrichment of Farm Yard manure (FYM): Add one Kg. of omega 1 ton of farm yard manure or compost to enrich it with the bio-pesticide. Farm yard manure added with this bio-pesticide should be left under shade for a period of 15 days, maintaining optimum moisture, and in between it should be mixed thoroughly at an interval of 5 days for proper enrichment of FYM.

Paecilomyces lilacinus s a common saprophytic, entomopathogenic, mycoparasitic, as well as nematophagous, filamentous fungus. It is parasitic on nematodes infecting eggs, juveniles, and adult females of root-knot and cyst nematodes. The species can grow at a wide range of temperatures – from 8°C to 38°C for a few isolates, with optimal growth in the range 26°C to 30°C. It also has a wide pH tolerance and can grow on a variety of substrates. P. lilacinus has shown promising results for use as a biocontrol agent to control the growth of destructive root-knot nematodes. Paecilomycesprotects the roots against plant parasitic nematodes, specifically root-knot nematodes (Meloidogynespp.), Banana nematodes (Radopholus similis) reniform nematode (Rotylenchulus reniformis), and citrus nematode (Tylenchulus semipenetrans). These nematodes infect horticultural crops of economic importance. Product Benifits Paecilomyces lilacinuscontrols effectively the economically important nematodes like root knot nematodes, burrowing nematodes, cyst nematodes, lesion nematodes etc. among wide range of crops. Paecilomyces lilacinusis a naturally occurring fungus found in soils used as a nematicide is applied to soilto control nematodes that attack plant roots. Paecilomyces lilacinusacts against plant root nematodes by infecting eggs, juveniles, and adult females. Target Crop Maize, Sorghum, Soybean, Chickpea, Cow pea, Eggplant, Potato, Capsicum, Tomato, Cucumbers,Ornamental flowers, Vineyards Ornamentals in greenhouses and nurseries. Target Pest Plant parasitic nematodes present in field soil include Root knot nematodes: Meloidogyne spp.; Cysnematodes: Heterodera spp. and Globodera spp.; Root lesion nematodes: Pratylenchus spp.; Reniform Nematode: Rotylenchulus reniformis Method of Application & Dosage Soil Application: Mixed 10 kg ofPaecilomyces lilacinusformulation with 100 kg FYM / well decomposed organic manure andapplied around the rhizosphere uniformly for existing crops in the field is sufficient for one hectare. Drip System: Mixed 10 kg ofPaecilomyces lilacinusformulation with 1000 Litres of water and filter the contents well. Afterfiltering it can be incorporate into the soil through the drip irrigation systems either before or after planting. In the case of high nematode population pressures and in perennial crops, multiple applications arerecommended
