Pine-softwood quality is imported mostly from New ZealandDensity: In Australia, it is 545 kg/m3 at 12% moisture content; approximately 1.8 m3 of seasoned sawn timber per ton. In New Zealand, it is 490 kg/m3; approximately 2 m3/t.Texture: It usually has straight grain. A regular but most prominent difference in the colors of its earlywood and latewood results in a very unique figure when backsawn.Uses: Widely used as a durable packaging material, office partitioning, office ceiling, hording and board purposes, Z button doors.Properties: Pine is a soft, white or pale yellow wood which is light weight, straight grained and lacks figure. It resists shrinking and swelling. Knotty pine is often used for decorative effect.
