Presto’s Crock Meter is used to determine the fastness of printed and dyed textiles to wet and dry rubbing. Complete with a pre-set rotary counter. Crockmeter is a unique test instrument to determine the colorfastness of textile materials against rubbing under either dry or wet condition. It checks the colorfastness to crocking when the test specimen is subjected to continuous rubbing by an abrading finger which rubs against it under specified load.

Crockmeter is a unique test instrument to determine the colorfastness of textile materials against rubbing under either dry or wet condition. It checks the colorfastness to crocking when the test specimen is subjected to continuous rubbing by an abrading finger which rubs against it under specified load. The rubbing finger has a flat base which is covered with a piece of standard white crocking cloth, which in turn is held by a stainless steel spring clip and is made to move over the test sample in an oscillating motion. The crocking cloth picks up the color lost by the sample under test. Crock-meter is an instrument which is widely used to determine the color fastness to rubbing of textiles, fabrics, yarn or leather under either dry or rub conditions. It is designed and produced according to both AATCC and ISO standards, so it can evaluate color fastness for textile fabrics, dyed textile or dyed leather. The Change in the color of specimen and staining of the adjacent fabrics are assessed with standard gray scales.
