Hexagonal shape of the Paper Honeycomb inner core is similar to honeycomb constructed by bees. The honeycomb structure used in producing the boards gets its strength from nature as hexagon is a basic natural shape. Hexagonal shape is present every where in nature: in plants, animals and human cells. No other shape provides such an optimal cover. It has high load bearing capacity, its shock and sound absorbent coupled with lightweight, recyclable, and totally biodegradable properties. The Honeycomb core & boards are so versatile, they can be used to develop almost any kind of imaginable use for packing that requires ‘protection against shock’, ‘lighter weight’, ‘lower cost’, ‘environment friendly’ and ‘safety of people handling it’ as its main advantages. It gives huge advantage, saving wood, the use of which is in no way contributing positively to the environment. Compression strength of the honeycomb core depends on cell size, thickness and quality of paper. Smaller the cell size, greater the strength; better the paper, stronger the honeycomb.

A pallet, (SAFEPACK & SAFECORE Pallets are made of Angleboard and Honeycomb respectively) is a flat transport structure made of wood, plastic and most recently paper honeycomb which is meant to support a variety of goods in a stable fashion while being lifted by any mobile forklift device. The goods are placed on top of the pallet and secured to it by metal or plastic straps or heavy-duty stretch wrapped plastic film, or both. The most common ISO standard pallet measures (view available sizes below) 100 by 120 by 12 cm (which means slightly less than 40 inches by 48 inches by 5 inches). It weighs 15 to 21 kilos empty. Most pallets can easily handle a load of 1,000 kilos. The gradual advent of containers for the transport of nearly all goods has spurred the use of pallets because the containers always offer the clean, level surfaces needed to make pallet movement economical. The common ISO standard pallets also fit neatly into common ISO containers, which in turn fit neatly on container ships, trains and trucks.
