The Slide Gate is an isolation device and can be supplied in low leak and zero leak designs. The low leak design is primarily used when a small amount of flue gas leakage past the closed gate can be tolerated. Typical leakage can vary from a few percent to less than one percent of flow depending on the type of seal system provided. The zero leak design is used when zero flue gas leakage past the closed slide gate is required. Zero leakage is achieved by pressurizing the seal chamber located around periphery of the closed blade with seal air.

These heavy duty constructions are extensively used in material handling application. They isolate or divert solid materials such as clinker dust and coal ash.   Typically lined with or fabricated out of abrasion resistant steels. Liner plates can be installed with replacability feature. Electric Drive or manual operation is typical For very close tolerances, fully machined blades enable 100% cross blade isolation, even under heavy loads

Slide Gates are manufactured in two basic forms Manually operated and pneumatic cylinder operated. Laser profiling results in a light but robust knife gate. The inlet ports are generously sized with a protective cover shroud insert. This shroud ensures that contact of material with the sealing strips above the gate blade is minimized reducing wear and maintenance. The design of the stuffing box is such that the packing can be changed with the gate blade in position and only the cover plate removed for access. The Hand Wheel operated gate uses a conventional hand wheel while the Chain Wheel operated version is available for hand operation where the gate is at an elevated position. Limit or proximity switches can be fitted as optional extras. Pneumatic cut off gate is used where the flow of material is to be stopped in automatic PLC controlled process. Slide Gates can also be supplied in stainless steel.
