Our Saffron or Kesar is of the higest grade saffron and it's directly from our partner farm in Pampore, Kashmir. The saffron flowers are hand plucked, hand sorted and hand processed to bring only the finest grade of Saffron or Kesar. It is the rare IS Grade - A1 or Mongra or Mogra identifiable by its deep-red or maroon stigmas. The world's finest Saffron strain with very high levels of  Safranal, Crocin and Picrocrocin which lend it an intense honey-like aroma, vivid colour and characteristic taste that is bitter at the start but ends with a sweet afternote. Aromatic Bliss saffron has a very high colouring strength (230+) and post infusion, the deep-red/maroon threads bloom into thick bright red strands. The strands are denser in flavour and you need really little quantities to do more with it. Aromatic Bliss Saffron is grown without using any chemicals or pesticides. It gives natural, deep red color and is full of flavour and aroma. Our partner farm is deeply committed to protect the legacy of this spice. Our Kashmiri Kesar has naturally high crocin content. Crocin is the element which gives saffron the natural, deep red color. Kashmir Saffron has a flat head which holds the deep aroma and oil and releases the flavour. Kashmir Kesar strands are thicker, have a higher oil and ash content.  The saffron flower or crocuses have three elements - the petals, yellow strands and red strands. The red strands are the most important ones - saffron is derived from this. The red strands have a tail which has to be dried, moistened again and then the tail is removed. This red strand, without the tail is now ‘Mongra’ or A++ or the first grade, purest Kashmir Saffron or Kesar and is what we have at Aromati Bliss.
