Coarse bubble diffusers are generally used for pollution control technology, they are used to aerate or mix waste-water meant for sewage treatment plant. They produce 1/4 to 1/2 inch bubbles which go up rapidly from the floor of a wastewater treatment plant or sewage treatment plant tank. They are normally used in grit chambers, chlorine contact tanks, equalization basins, and aerobic digesters, sometimes also in aeration tanks.
